Having been a young kid during the ’90s, I completely missed out on the brooding, grungy beauty look of the decade (I only began wearing makeup towards the end of the period. And by makeup, I mean roll-on glitter). So this fall, I excitedly embraced the ’90s-esque dark red/oxblood/burgundy lipstick trend.
Taking the decade’s influence beyond lipstick this spring is Nars. The brand’s entire Spring 2013 Color Collection—which launched online today—is inspired by the decade’s feminine yet audacious beauty trends. Highlights include a blush in a sangria hue, a burnt orange eye shadow and a metallic nail polish.
Fittingly, Stella Tennant (see image left)—whose career took off during the ’90s— is the face of the collection.
