This tower of boxes from Aerin Lauder arrived one day, and I thought to myself, There could be nothing but shredded newspaper inside those boxes and I’d still be glamorized. Inside there were even-more-glamorous, actual perfume boxes printed with original fabric patterns from Aerin for Lee Jofa that stoked the glamour fire about 1,000 percent. Nonetheless, I knew that when I actually smelled the scents (Gardenia Rattan, Amber Musk, Lilac Path, Ikat Jasmine and Evening Rose, respectively), I’d have a favorite, maybe a second place, and the rest … someone else would love. That is always the way, no? And yet: These perfumes are the exception to the rule. I cannot pick a favorite, and there is not one that I do not like. First time ever. I cannot choose; I must have all!
