As fashion’s original “It girl” (as far back as the term itself goes, anyway), Alexa Chung is one of the more laid-back members of fashion’s in crowd. She’s seldom seen not wearing denim, and the odds of spotting her in flats are infinitely higher than catching her in heels—and we absolutely adore her if only for that styling tendency alone.
But as a “denim ambassador” of sorts, it was only a matter of time before the 30-year-old lady-about-town created her own collection of jeans—a collaboration which, awesomely, is actually happening with denim brand AG Adriano Goldschmied.
The “Alexa Chung for AG” capsule will include 20 pieces, ranging from overalls to jeans and denim dresses to miniskirts, all designed by Chung herself and hitting stores in January.
“The collection is inherently the missing pieces of dream denim wardrobe, which, as ever, is predominantly inspired by a late Sixties, early Seventies aesthetic,” Chung told Women’s Wear Daily.
While we have a good seven months before we’re able to see the finished products, AG did release an image of Chung’s inspiration board, shared below. As you can imagine, the collage is chock-full of the coolest of cool images, ranging from Jane Birkin (well, obviously) to the Sex Pistols.
Squee! We’re in for a real treat here, guys.
