You guys, today’s "Who Wore It Better?" is a doozy. Back in October, the ever-stylish Alexa Chung attended Versace’s Soho store opening in NYC dressed in a turtleneck-and-leather-skirt combo in fashion’s color of the moment, oxblood (or whatever you choose to call the hot hue). From the mini’s cute zipper detail to Alexa’s matching ponyhair purse, we loved the whole look.
Then, earlier this week, Rose Byrne—who, just like Alexa, made our list of 2012’s best-dressed stars—showed up at the Sydney premiere of I Give It A Year in a strikingly similar ensemble. Sure, she went for a dress, not separates—but her Jill Stuart’s leather skirt and silky bodice certainly make it seem like a two-piece deal. Heck, even the two ladies’ poses are identical!
So in the battle of oxblood vs. oxblood—which hopefully won’t result in actual bloodshed—which comes out on top? Alexa’s long sleeves and matching carryall or Rose’s sleeveless sheath? Let us know—and click through to shop both celebs’ merlot-toned looks.
