Since its launch nine years ago, renowned blog Bag Snob has built a business based on co-owners Tina Craig and Kelly Cook’s unapologetic love for all things handbags—and with that, front-page headlines, a collaboration with DKNY and perhaps most prevalently, an incredibly loyal reader base. Of course, it was only a matter of time before the duo extended their accessory savvy into the world of retail: on May 15, they’ll be launching a bag line all their own on HSN.
Appropriately named Snob Essentials, the collection will be sold exclusively in the U.S. and will feature trendy, Snob-designed cross body, totes and backpack styles, all in vegan leather and with custom hardware. Thanks to a licensing deal with Beanstalk Group last year, HSN has already ordered 6,000 models for its Spring 2014 season and will continue to produce the entire line for the next two years. And with prices ranging from $68 to $128, we’re expecting for the collection to fly off the shelves all through 2016.
"It"s almost a very selfish line that we made for us," Tina, who founded Bag Snob in 2005, told Women’s Wear Daily. "We see thousands and thousands of bags every month because that’s our business. With this line we’re not trying to compete with Givenchy or Chanel or even Rebecca Minkoff. We want to be a great value to the 99.99 percent of women who shop at Zara or Forever 21, but those bags are now $150 dollars. We want to offer something to women for a great price."
Snob Essentials will debut on HSN on May 15 at 9 PM, and again on May 16 at 2 AM and 6 PM. To get a peek at the line’s offerings, click through the gallery above.
