Having lent pastel highlights, metallic glazes and rainbow dip-dyes to the likes of Florence Welch and M.I.A., hair colorist Alex Brownsell of BLEACH London knows how to make your hair shout out loud. So when she learned about Barbie Design Printables, the latest version of the Mattel wonder-doll that comes with printable hair extensions, Brownsell saw the opportunity for a perfect partnership.
With Barbie x BLEACH, the East End-based stylist and her creative team have dreamt up multiple top-to-toe looks for the tiny plastic icon, just a couple of which are pictured here. Check out the collaboration’s Tumblr to see more of the punk-meets-playful designs, which will be unveiled on a daily basis through the New Year, and read cute Q&As with Brownsell and her staff.
Barbie Design Printables allows anyone with an inkjet printer to create colorful hair designs of their own online, then print them directly onto the kit’s included extensions before clipping them in. As a bonus, each doll also comes with 16 adult hair extensions—meaning that, yes, you and your newly punked-out Barbie can match.
