I am so excited for Derek Lam’s spring 2014 collection and here’s why: At first glance the clothing seems minimalist. However, interesting twists like an eye-catching pattern or fabric makes the entire line really chic and so easy to wear—and the same goes for the makeup. During the show, makeup artist Tom Pecheaux focused on dewy skin, a nude lip and soft gold eyeshadow with cool, barely-there dark navy eye liner. It’s the type of beauty look that’s trendy, but not over-the-top, which is exactly the way I like to approach my makeup routine.
Though you’ll have to wait for spring for the clothes, you can get all the products you need to recreate the makeup look right now. We talk a lot here about how to bring runway looks to real life and the new Estée Lauder and Derek Lam makeup collaboration that’s available on EsteeLauder.com makes it easier than ever. The limited-edition set includes a black mascara, eyeshadow in Smoked Gold, a navy pencil liner and a lip gloss in Barely Gold—all neatly tucked into a gorgeous navy satin minaudière that you can re-use as a going-out clutch. You’ll love how versatile the set is just as much as I do.
