Unless you’ve been able to shield yourself from all the sun-drenched and envy-inducing Instagram shots filling up your feed, you know that this year’s Cannes Film Festival is currently underway. Though the extravaganza kicked off just yesterday, we’ve already seen the likes of Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldana, Karlie Kloss, Blake Lively and Kendall Jenner grace the red carpet, with many stars (Marion Cotillard, Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o, among them) set to join them soon.
We would be remiss, of course, if we didn’t give credit where credit is due in regards to Cannes’ incredibly glamorous history. To wit, our friends at Mediarun Digital have created a fabulous infographic that features the festival’s most memorable dresses from throughout its 60-year history. From Madonna’s 1991 bralette and bloomer combination to Nicole Kidman’s 1950s-inspired Christian Dior frock from last year’s fest, it’s all here and makes for a grade-A history lesson.
