As one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing you could humanly wear, it’s possible that overalls have surpassed bucket bags, culottes and so-called “ugly shoes” as the trend of the summer. And now that stylish trailblazers like Blake Lively and Olivia Palermo are embracing today’s dungarees in spades, overalls are impossible to resist. For us, at least.
Honestly, take a gander and Lively and Palermo above. Accessorized with sleeker, more ladylike accessories, these two street style mavens look impeccable—but, ugh, what else is new, right?
While out and about in New York City, Lively paired her Rag & Bone dungarees with an easy black and white palette, including cat-eye shades and a simple cross body pouch. Palermo, on the other hand, rolled up her black coveralls at the ankles with a similarly chic white blouse at a dinner celebrating her collaboration with Westward Leaning sunglasses (more on that later!), also in the Big Apple.
Both looks serve as a lesson in how to make overalls look undeniably grown-up—a skill set that will certainly come in handy this summer.
