Truth be told, I never thought it was actually going to happen. But alas, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have officially proven me wrong: as confirmed by the Associated Press, “Brangelina” just got married this past Saturday in France after nine years, six kiddos and a two-year engagement. While all specifics on the nuptials are scarce, we do know that their children—Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8 and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne—joined in on the celebration, making it a full family affair.
More details to come!
UPDATE: A full 24 hours after news broke that the world’s sexiest couple had gotten hitched over the weekend, we’re finally getting some details. Let’s break it down for you based on topic, shall we?
The dress: According to E! News, a “source” revealed that Jolie did, indeed, opt for a white dress for the ceremony, saying the gown was “very traditional, but very Angie, it was comfortable but plain white floor-length antique lace and silk.” We’re waiting to hear confirmation on the dress’ designer, but based on her previous track record, we’ll put our money on Versace.
The accessories: E! is also reporting that Jolie “definitely wore something that once belonged to [her mother] Marcheline Bertrand, who died of ovarian cancer in 2007. A small gold locket with a photo of her mom inside it.” She wore a veil, too: “When Brad lifted it [he] gasped because she looked so stunning.”
The wedding party: “The boys all wore tiny matching cream linen suits which were just like Brad’s [tux] while the girls had each chosen a dress to match their own individual style and they had them specially made.”
As for the gaggle of Jolie-Pitt offspring, each child played a part in the parents’ nuptials. Jolie reportedly walked down the aisle with Maddox and Pax, while Zahara and Vivienne threw petals and Shiloh and Knox played the part of ring-bearer. “The girls had each chosen a dress to match their own individual style and they had them specially made,” said the insider.
The vows: Said a guest (as told to Hollywood Life), “Brad and Angie wrote their own wedding vows. It was a very intimate wedding, very classy and elegant.”
The guest list: New York Daily News is reporting that while Jolie’s estranged father, Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, was not invited, both of Pitt’s parents, Jane and William, were among the attendees. That being said, the wedding included “no more than 22 relatives and close friends.”
