At yesterday’s Maleficent world premiere at the El Capitan theatre in Los Angeles, Brad Pitt had planned on going about his business as a supportive partner to his lady love, Angelina Jolie. As Brangelina descended upon the film’s red carpet, a physical altercation was likely the last thing on Pitt’s mind—but alas, the universe works in mysterious ways.
While posing for pictures and signing autographs, a notorious celebrity troublemaker hopped over the barricades and "made contact with" (police lingo for "punched") Pitt in the face before security intervened.
No, really—this actually happened. The suspect? Vitalii Seduik, 25, the same man who crawled under America Ferrera’s gown at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month. Pitt appeared to be unharmed, reportedly resuming to sign autographs after the attack.
All hysteria aside, it was Jolie and her 16-year-old co-star Elle Fanning who were the true stars of the evening. Fanning, below, looked perfectly princess-like in a powder blue Elie Saab Couture gown from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection. The pastel creation is right in line with the young actress’ commendable track record for dressing age-appropriately, while the choker gives it a surprising twist.
Jolie, on the other hand, opted for a rubberized silk Atelier Versace gown that is every bit as captivating as it is dramatic. Her sleek ponytail and minimal accessories kept the whole vibe sophisticated and clean.
All in all, certainly an interesting way to premiere a movie.
