When we first heard mumors that Cara Delevingne and Mulberry had a surprise up their high-fashion hands for London Fashion Week, we weren’t quite sure what the duo had in store. A fast-fashion collaboration? A flash mob-esque show? A new campaign unveiling? Well, if we had paid attention to photo shoot notes of Mulberry campaigns’ past, we would have figured out the bombshell much sooner.
As unveiled earlier today, the 21-year-old It-girl has collaborated with the British fashion house on a line of three handbags, all made in England and formally titled the Mulberry Cara Delevingne Collection. According to Vogue, during one of Cara’s first Mulberry shoots, she mentioned how much she would enjoy creating her own handbags. In three different sizes and three different leathers, the versatile Cara bags epitomize the model’s tomboy-ish style.
"Mulberry is delighted to announce a creative collaboration with Cara Delevingne, an iconic British model, up and coming actress and music maker. Cara is internationally renowned for her unique style," Mulberry confirmed in a press release. "She is much loved for her quirky spirit and ‘joie de vivre’ and is a leading light of the fashion and entertainment worlds. To Mulberry she epitomises the brand values of British heritage combined with London cool."
No word on pricepoints yet, but given Cara’s cult-like following, we have a feeling the bags will sell pretty well—regardless of pound or dollar amounts.
