In Cara Delevingne’s defense, she does, in fact, have a superhuman amount on her undoubtedly bacon-filled plate: she models, sings, acts, parties, is a muse to many and takes extravagant vacations, all of which begs for some much-needed recovery time every now and then.
Apparently, Delevingne’s overbooked schedule has gotten the best of her in the most narcoleptic of ways. This month’s Vogue includes an interview with the 21-year-old multihyphenate, conducted by the pithy, patrician writer Plum Sykes. In it, Sykes claims that she was unable to get much of out Delevingne because she, well, fell asleep mid-interview.
She writes: “Dear reader, to misquote Oscar Wilde, can I say that to oversleep once for a Vogue interview may be regarded as a misfortune, but to oversleep twice looks like carelessness?”
In Delevingne’s defense, they started their interview off with a massage which, as many of us understand, kind of lends itself to snooziness. But Sykes was quick to point out that perhaps the reason Delevingne was so sleepy was because she had (allegedly) been out until 5 AM the night before with Lily Allen.
Yesterday, Delevingne took to Twitter to air her frustrations with the glossy, saying: “All I can say is that I work extremely hard and ‘sleeping’ is proof that sometimes I work too hard. I apologize for being so ambitious.”
Dang! It’s safe to say the claws have come out, huh? Though if I were you, Cara, I wouldn’t bite the hand that feeds you—at least not so publicly.
