With fall fast approaching, our hunt for new outerwear has officially begun. Jackets, of course, are the best way to transition your more summery tops into the crisper days of fall. And while blazers and cardigans are common options, sometimes neither is exactly what’s needed. Blazers add polish and structure to a loose tank, but the shoulder padding and lapels can look too corporate—not to mention cover up the majority of the top in question. Cardigans, on the other hand, can veer into too-casual territory—plus, the teacher/librarian look isn’t so easy to avoid.
After sifting through a ton of blazers, cardigans, bombers, moto jackets and everything in between, I think I’ve finally found the answer. What I—and you!—need this autumn is a blazer-cardigan hybrid (blazigan?), something structured but comfortable.
