Along with heading up her namesake label, Diane von Furstenberg is the president of the CFDA and tops Forbes‘ Most Powerful Women list. She also created the iconic jersey wrap dress and says you can go topless until you’re 40. A fashion legend, von Furstenberg has been photographed by the most well-known names in the business, from Ron Galella to Francesco Scavullo for her 1976 Newsweek cover.
This photograph, which appeared in a February 1974 issue of Vogue, is in our opinion perhaps one of the best. The designer looks stunning, wearing a halter dress from her own collection and a simple necklace—and a so-big-you-can’t-miss-it wig. There’s just something about the ’70s-era drama of it all that is too good to miss.
