When Donatella Versace debuted her extravagant Spring 2014 Atelier Versace collection at Paris Couture Week, it wasn’t just those Grecian draped dresses that grabbed our attention and nabbed headlines. While Lady Gaga may have been the most recent star to become Donatella’s mini-me, there’s another public figure the designer is itching to dress: Kate Middleton.
As Grazia reports, shortly following Atelier Versace’s runway presentation, Donatella told the UK’s The Sunday Times, "She can wear anything because she has a fantastic body." While that could theoretically include Versace’s body-conscious, skin-baring dresses, such designs aren’t exactly synonymous with the Duchess’ style.
It’s also Kate’s reach of influence that has Donatella under her spell. "I call it the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge effect," she said.
Donatella reportedly has her eye set on dressing the Queen, too. "I could put her in the colors in this collection, the lilac, the pale pinks and purples, but my dream was to put her in black." Well, that’s a royal makeover we’d absolutely love to see!
