Hm, well that’s interesting. After joining the company less than a year ago in January 2013, Doo-Ri-Chung, Vince’s creative director, is resigning from the company, WWD is reporting. Earlier this year, Vince tapped Chung—with a sizeable cult-like following thanks to her namesake label‘s penchant for knitwear and leathers—who relocated her family to Los Angeles. Karin Gregerson, Vince’s president, will take over Chung’s creative directorship responsiblities, effective Friday.
So what’s next for Chung? According to WWD, the designer decided to resign "to return to New York," which gives us very tentative reason to believe that she may have simply had her eponymous label—and the Big Apple—in mind once again.
