When you hear "pink eye", your first thought probably gravitates towards a gross eye infection you might have gotten as a kid. But in beauty speak, we’re actually referring to a pretty, rose eye shadow that’s been popping up recently on stylish celebs like Emma Stone. The look is a lot more versatile than you think: the soft pastel shade is a great look for the office, but still edgy enough for a night out.
To copy the look, first you need to prep your eyes with a primer to help the shadow blend easily and to avoid looking too pink in one area. Use a soft brush to apply a matte, petal pink eyeshadow (we love the one that comes in the Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Quad) upwards onto the lid, gently fading the shadow as you make your way towards the crease. Create definition around the eyes with black liner and a generous coat of black mascara to ground the look. You want to avoid wearing color on the rest of your face—maybe try a subtle pink stain if your lips feel bare, but leave the rest of the skin dewy and fresh. We won’t be surprised if pink shadow becomes your new summer go-to.
