If you go by history, rings are probably the most important piece of jewelry around. Long before they were associated with engagements and marriage, they were seen as symbols of power for monarchs, spiritual leaders and the like. I’ve even heard stories of one ring that was forged in the fires of Mount Doom that controls all others. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I imagine it should be destroyed from the fiery chasm from whence it came.
Anyway, these days, anybody can buy and wear a ring. But if you’re not just "anybody" and happen to be a leisurely living member of the one percent, then these are the ones for you. Each is handpicked from the most luxurious jewelers we could think of, all with price tags that will send you into sticker shock.
And remember, when you’re dealing with the staff at Cartier, Harry Winston and their peers, know that prices will vary based on clarity, etc.
