If you didn’t already know that AnnaSophia Robb is playing Carrie in the Sex and the City prequel, check out the photo at left.
That’s the actress on the set of The Carrie Diaries, wearing a tie-front blouse, high-waisted shorts and some very non-keratined hair. Oh, and a splatterpaint satchel with "Carrie" scrawled across it in pink script—perfect for the 1980s setting, and perhaps the most interesting part of the picture.
Like the Middleton effect, the Sex and the City stamp of approval makes people want things: Manolo Blahnik mary janes, studded belts, black diamond rings, those gold aviators from the second movie (still on backorder, two years later).
And we’d bet more than a few women will want this cheeky bag. Unlike a more demure mongrammed handbag, it’s got a kitschy, old-school feel—kinda like a varsity jacket, and those are ultra-popular right now. Would you wear it? And more importantly, is the personalized bag the new nameplate necklace?
