Ever since Kermit the Frog started that wacky notion about the difficulties of being green, many a celebrity’s been hesitant to wear vibrant emerald on the red carpet. Sure, stars regularly adorn their fingers, ears and necks with verdant stones—and maybe even try a gown in shades of hunter or seafoam. Screaming "GO" sign green, however, has generally been considered tricky territory.
Imagine my surprise, then, when two of Lucky‘s absolute favorite ladies both wore emerald-toned looks from Elie Saab’s spring collection to two separate events last week. Actress/mother/GOOP-er Gwyneth Paltrow picked a cap-sleeved style with a plunging neckline for the Bambi Awards in Germany, while Avatar star Zoe Saldana chose a belted crewneck column. Both ladies teamed their all-over-sequined dresses with loose hair and minimal makeup, but I like that Zoe also eschewed jewels. Gwynnie looks great, but that diamond collar seems a little unnecessary, no? What do you all think?
