Considering Jay Z’s status as mega-millionaire entrepreneur, we’re honestly a bit frazzled that the rapper-meets-sports agent-meets-philanthropist has not yet delved into the fragrance territory—until now, that is. In news that will surprise no one, GOLD JAY-Z, debuting in 2,000 department stories on Black Friday, will reflect an "ultra-luxurious" scent, created alongside renowned Firmenich perfumer Ilias Ermenidis.
While the white bottle reflects an overwhelmingly simple, no-frills design, the contents appear to be anything but. In a press release, GOLD JAY Z is described as an elaborate blend of more than 13 flavors, including yellow ginger, cypress, and bourbon vanilla for a final whiff of "gilded sensuality." Yummy.
WWD is also reporting that Mr. Sean Carter rejected up to 3,200 fragrance names until he finally gave "GOLD" the green light. Donald J. Loftus, president of fragrance distributor Parlux Ltd, tells WWD that the title came to Jay Z when he picked up the bottle and declared, "’This is the s–t; it’s gold.’"
