It appears some participants in Wednesday night’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show were less enthused by Taylor Swift’s performance than others.
Aussie Angel Jessica Hart, 27, told WWD earlier this week that the leggy, blonde songstress wouldn’t have been able to "pull it off" as a Victoria’s Secret model. As Hart explained, this is largely due to Swift’s young age, despite several of the evening’s models (such as Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne, for starters) being between the ages of 19 and 21.
"I think, you know what, God bless her heart. I think she’s great. But, I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit," Hart admitted. "I don’t know if I should say that. I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It’s definitely the benchmark of all jobs.”
Perhaps Hart is referencing the fact that Swift is just 23, which, in her own opinion, may cater to an experience level not suited for Victoria’s Secret. However, it’s worth pointing out that Swift did release her debut album in 2006 at the age of 16. Taylor Swift was then followed by four additional albums and 186 awards (yes, seriously), seven of those being Grammys. The singer also happens to be older than the 2012 VS Fashion Show’s headliner, Justin Bieber, by four years. And, OK, has any musical performer in the history of the televised lingerie extravaganza ever looked more like an Angel than Swift?
Well, to each her own, we guess.
