Last night, Jennifer Aniston appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live for the purpose of promoting her upcoming (and very un-Friends-like) film Life of Crime. With her latest project being something of an indie flick, she’s letting us all know that her Rachel Green days are far behind her.
“Whatever,” said Kimmel (in our totally made up version of events). “Let’s give the people what they want.”
So, because people are nostalgic monsters, Kimmel revealed an exact replica of that infamously huge Friends apartment, right there in the corner of his studio. From the number of Oh gods Aniston muttered aloud (I counted three), she didn’t seem at all thrilled to be participating in Kimmel’s little charade. And when Kimmel pulled out a “Rachel wig,” Aniston very adamantly refused, saying, “I’ve got boundaries, Jimmy.”
Her annoyance was palpable, making it difficult to even get through the whole eight-minute segment—even when Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow showed up to reprise their old roles of Monica and Phoebe. Said Aniston: “Are you kidding me? And now you drag Court into this?”
You can try and fight it, Jen, but there’s no denying your past. I think I read that on a bumper sticker somewhere.
