We can always count on Topshop to tap a fresh British designer for an amazing collaboration (Mary Katrantzou, Christopher Kane). This fall, the UK retailer is teaming up with J.W. Anderson—and is promising us not one, but two collections from the talented 28-year-old. The first will hit stores this September; the second, in early 2013.
Anderson, who launched his line in 2008 with a focus on menswear, has since expanded to women’s, earning himself a 2011 British Fashion Award for Emerging Talent nomination in the process. We were absolutely obsessed with his paisley-packed Spring 2012 collection, and can’t wait to see what he’ll at Topshop’s lower price point. "It has always been very important to me that my collections are made accessible to anyone interested in fashion and design," Anderson said in this morning’s press release.
Oh, and there’s this interesting tidbit, too: in addition to twists on the jersey dresses, knitwear and outerwear for which he’s known, Anderson will be designing "items such as pencils, memory sticks, Rubik’s cubes, vintage magazines and photography books," for Topshop. The beginnings of a lifestyle brand? We’re not complaining.
