Could Kanye West be planning a move to London? According to several British sources including Grazia and The Sun, the rapper is leaving Los Angeles for the UK in order to work on his fashion label, DW, full-time.
Although his debut Spring 2012 collection was almost universally panned by fashion critics, West is determined to gain some fashion industry recognition. It would make sense for the rapper to want to be closer to his staff mentors at prestigious fashion school Central Saint Martins—not to mention designer/stylist Katie Eary, with whom he collaborated the first time around—as his Fall 2012 show date draws near.
West has apparently been searching for a studio space in London and threw a holiday party for his label at Le Baron’s British outpost just last week. "He went home for the holidays but was proclaiming that he is now based in the capital and would return in early January," said a source who attended the event.
We agree that West’s relocating to the city where his label is being designed could only, well, make his collection stronger. But what about you? Do you think Yeezy’s trans-Atlantic move might improve DW’s odds in the cutthroat fashion industry?
