To kick off New York Fashion Week and to fete the Spring 2014 collection of her accessories line Littledoe, designer, musician, and one of my fave quirky Coveteur alums Chase Cohl held an intimate soirée on Tuesday night. Pals such as Stephanie LaCava, Langley Fox, Curtis Kulig and Camille Rowe were on hand to help her celebrate at the Lower East Side hotspot The Leadbelly.
With the launch of this collection, Cohl takes the brand from free-spirited festival wear into more everyday wearability—all, of course, without losing the line’s trademark carefree, bohemian sensibility. The latest iteration, a mixture of both editorial and more wearable pieces, features custom embroidered wide-brimmed hats, metallic dip-dyed feather headpieces, silver-leafed velvet florals crowns, and chakra crystal necklaces—all largely inspired by the French and Spanish military millinery and embroidery techniques of the 17th and 18th century. And to help her mark her more sophisticated direction, Cohl enlisted long-time pal model/musician Karen Elson for her latest lookbook —part of which was shot on location at the supe’s Nashville home.
