How many planes has the poor woman been on this week? In any case: Kate Middleton started the latest leg at the Calgary International Airport yesterday in a daffodil yellow dress by British designer Jenny Packham. The covered buttons, nipped waist and puffed sleeves skirt give this a vintage feel–but maybe that floaty knee-length skirt wasn’t the best thing to wear near high-velocity jet engines. While we love a wind machine on a photo shoot, poor Kate almost had a royal wardrobe malfunction. In any case, she looks fresh and elegant. Designer Adam Lippes of ADAM had this to say on her look: "The fact is, the Duchess seems to always look good. Even in yellow, which can be a tough color to pull off. The dress is pretty and refined — two words that definitely fit her well. It has a strong late 1940s/1950s vintage vibe, which she seems to like based on some of her past looks, including the nautical inspired Alexander McQueen dress from a few days ago. I love that she is carrying a minaudiere for day — something most women would only carry at night. She is so confident that any fashion ‘risks’ she takes aren’t really risky at all."
