This past weekend, Keira Knightley tied the knot with Klaxons’ James Righton in the south of France—as it was widely speculated she would. But although the actual wedding was no surprise, the dress the Brit actress chose for her big day sure was.
Despite widespread reports that Karl Lagerfeld was set to create Keira’s wedding gown, the star actually walked the aisle in what appears to be a knee-length tulle strapless Rodarte she wore to a Bafta event back in 2008 (scroll down for photographic proof). If this is in fact the same five-year-old design, as one UK outlet suspects, Keira certainly managed to throw the media for a loop. Since she’s been a Chanel brand ambassador for years and is even set to play Coco Chanel herself in an upcoming mini-film, the sheer fact that she’d choose a non-Lagerfeld creation for her wedding is shocking.
Perhaps that’s why Keira chose to accessorize her Rodarte number with one of Chanel’s iconic tweed jackets, in a bid to include something double-C-emblazoned on her special day. She also added a fun floral wreath and a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers. All in all, we love her laid-back nuptials look—recycled dress and all. How about you?
