Just earlier today, we wrote earnestly about a certain reality star who has proven herself to be fashion’s next supermodel-in-the-making in her New York Fashion Week debut this season: Gigi Hadid, who both opened and closed Jeremy Scott’s show yesterday. But all this time, there was another 18-year-old starlet prepping for her own NYFW appearance right under our noses—one with whom we’re all intimately familiar.
Since Kendall Jenner signed to esteemed agency The Society Management in November, we’ve been patiently waiting for the Kardashian (well, half Kardashian) to make a proper high fashion entrance. And in true Kardashian fashion, she certainly didn’t disappoint as she walked the Holy Grail of all NYFW catwalks, Marc Jacobs, tonight. We have to give it to Kendall: she pulls off the runway model gig way better than we (probably unfairly) assumed, going the whole nine yards with dyed eyebrows (again?!) and a blunt-cut blonde wig. As our editor-in-chief Eva Chen noted, "It felt very Galactica and Divergent."
Our friends at Into The Gloss took advantage of Kendall’s dramatic debut, both shooting and interviewing Harry Styles‘ alleged lady love backstage pre-show. "I just recently turned 18, so this [Marc Jacobs show] is my big kick-off to start and grow my career," Kendall told Into The Gloss’ founder and creative director Emily Weiss. "The New York fashion scene is crazy, madness, but I love the energy. I love everything about it—like the hair and makeup today, it’s incredible. I’ve never had my eyebrows bleached; I don’t even look like myself!"
