It’s equal parts reassuring and annoying to know that Gwyneth Paltrow was as perfect of a human specimen in high school as she is now, at age 41. Want to hear the most Gwyneth Paltrow thing ever? Her senior year of high school (at New York City’s schmancy, all-girls Spence School), Paltrow was president of a nine-girl a cappella group called Triple Trio. And, it gets better—want to know who else was a member of said highly esteemed singing club?
On last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, Washington, there to promote Scandal’s forthcoming fourth season, discussed her own high school days at Spence. As it turns out, the 37-year-old actress was a few years behind Paltrow in school, and yearned to follow in her footsteps—as one does.
She explains: “When I was in junior high school, I really wanted to be in Triple Trio because there was this really amazing senior, named Gwyneth Paltrow, and she was president of Triple Trio, so I wanted to be president of Triple Trio one day. And then I was co-president of Triple Trio one day.” And according to Spence’s website, Triple Trio still exists!
