On Saturday, Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR (a seven-day motorcycle ride to benefit amfAR and raise funds for AIDS research) made its final stop at the Khiel’s store on 13th Street in New York City. Being unqualified for a motorcycle tour of the Northeast, I skipped that part and popped in right at the end for the star studded celebratory event, which resulted in me living out my teenage dream of hanging out with Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski. (Sidenote: Mark Paul Gosselaar is not great at recalling plot lines from my favorite episodes. Or he tries to forget.)
Speaking of dreamboats, Tyson Beckford was there! He and I are always running into each other in the most fabulous places! (I wasn’t sure if he remembered meeting during Milan fashion week in 2004, but I sure do and I sometimes tell people that we’re friends.) All of that fun stuff aside, the event was about making the dream of finding a cure for AIDS attainable. Since 2001, Khiel’s has raised $1 million for AIDS/HIV organizations. And if you’re wondering what you can do to help, start by buying this limited edition face lotion for $46—100% of the proceeds go toward amfAR research—and do what you can to educate yourself and others.
