Admit it: you, like us, were perhaps slightly surprised when Karl Lagerfeld announced that Kristen Stewart would be the face of Chanel’s Paris-Dallas collection. Sure, the 23-year-old actress has been wearing Chanel for years, so it wasn’t that weird that she’d be picked to rep the label’s Southwestern-inspired line, first shown at Chanel’s December 2013 Metiers d’Art show in Dallas. But when inspecting the collection’s fringed leather, cowboy boots and printed tees more closely, it becomes clear that K-Stew was the Kaiser’s full-on muse.
While the ads weren’t due out until May, several of the shots leaked via Instagram this morning, and were promptly deleted despite immediate circulation. In them, Kristen looks entirely in her element, lounging around, looking moody with cornrows and a very serious statement brow. They’re certainly beautiful and have a certain Friday Night Lights vibe, and Kristen seems to embody the Lone Star style effortlessly; in one of the shots, she’s even got a toothpick in her mouth.
