Since there’s no golden formula for the perfect evening skincare routine, it takes plenty of trial and error to find one that works. But even then, you’ve got to regularly shake up your standby mix with a few new products. How else will you know if there’s something even better out there?!
To help you round out your bedtime beauty regimen, this series will highlight the cleansers, moisturizers, serums and masks our editors use before hitting the sack. Today our editor-in-chief’s assistant, Kristie Dash, is sharing her PM skincare secrets with us—plenty of which she learned from her boss! "While the products I use are swapped out quite frequently (one perk of being Eva’s assistant), I generally have a pretty consistent routine. First, I pre-cleanse with Klorane Soothing Makeup Remover. I have this huge bottle that has taken me nearly a year to go through. It’s gentle yet effective. Then, I use my Clarisonic with a basic cleanser like Neutrogena Naturals. If there’s one skincare step to buy at the drugstore, it’s the cleanser.
Next, I’ve been using this 3LAB toner that I’m obsessed with. I feel like people are scared of toners when really, they aren’t that complicated. It’s an in-between step that preps skin for the products to come. Serum follows. My pores love Chanel Hydra Beauty serum. Clearly they have great taste. Depending on the time of year, next steps could involve a heavy-duty cream for winter. Right now, I’m using one from a brand I don’t even know how to pronounce, but it’s an all-time fave: Biokaliftin Patyka. Or an oil-free moisturizer for summer; Clinique makes a great one.
