Although the only song Lady Gaga’s publicly released from her forthcoming ARTPOP album is "Applause," she’s given Donatella Versace a sneak peek of another one called ‘Donatella." Which only seems fair, we suppose, since the track in question was both named after and inspired by the infamous designer. As Just Jared exclusively reported last Friday, after an interview with Mother Monster, "Donatella" is the singer’s "love letter to Donatella," and all about "being a fearless female and not caring what people say about you—being proud of who you are and walking the walk no matter what."
The popstar also said that, "Donatella, maybe she’s a bitch, maybe she’s too skinny, maybe she’s too rich, maybe she’s too out there. Or, maybe she’s brilliant, maybe she’s intelligent, maybe she’s strong, maybe she’s everything, maybe she’s Donatella." Could those be a sneak peek of the lyrics? One never knows what kind of games Gaga is playing! But whatever the song sounds like, it has Donatella’s stamp of approval. After the celebrity gossip blog first posted its intel, Versace’s head of house emailed the site directly with the following comment: "I would like to thank Gaga for her geniality, creativity, incredible talent and super bitchiness. I am honored to be her friend and of course I love the song! Love, DV." Perhaps it’s not exactly the most average of compliments ("oh thank you for your super bitchiness?"), but Donatella and Gaga aren’t exactly average people. We have a feeling that’s just what will make this song (or at least the outfits that Gaga will wear in the accompanying video, because they’ve got to be custom Versace, right?) extraordinary.
