The hits just keep on comin’ for indie songstress Lana Del Rey. Mulberry’s already named a bestselling bag after her and hired her to perform at several brand parties, CFDA-winning designer Joseph Altuzarra dressed her for last month’s Met Ball—and now, according to Page Six, she’s H&M’s new campaign girl.
Though neither Lana’s reps nor H&M execs have confirmed the deal, the New York Post‘s source said the "Video Games" singer is "shooting an H&M campaign in New York" right now.
And to be honest, we can totally believe this report. The high street company’s more industry-savvy than most, regularly booking A-list models like Anja Rubik and Lily Donaldson for its ads. And judging by how adored Lana is by most style insiders, this seems a smart and natural move.
There’s also the collaboration angle to consider here. When soccer superstar David Beckham recently shot ads for H&M, for instance, he wasn’t just modeling—he was promoting a line of bodywear he’d designed for the company. Dare to dream here, but could Lana be collaborating with the affordable brand? She did design some Keds back in 2009, after all…
