Something tells us that Hannah Horvath is currently sitting in a onesie in her Brooklyn apartment, seething with envy at her real-life alter ego, Lena Dunham‘s forthcoming book and hardcover jacket—just released yesterday on Lena’s Instagram.
The Girls writer-slash-director-slash-starring actress is following in the footsteps of show business comediennes Mindy Kaling and Tina Fey with Not That Kind of Girl, a humorous advice guide for women in their 20s. The field guide features a groovy fuschia and black cover that harkens back to the book jacket designs of the 1960s and 1970s, much like fellow feminist icon, Helen Gurley Brown, with her landmark bestseller, Having It All.
"It’s official," Lena captioned on the photo. "Coming 10/7/14."
Not That Kind of Girl‘s forthcoming release doesn’t come as a total surprise after a 66-page proposal first circulated throughout New York publishers in October 2012—the rights of which were eventually sold to Random House for $3.7 million.
