True story: when Lena Dunham was in middle school, she would camp out in front of the TV every week with snacks and a Jimmy Fallon shrine (yes, really) to watch Saturday Night Live. As she recently recalled to Seth Meyers on Late Night, no one was allowed to speak during the opening monologue, and she would often take notes.
But yet, the Girls creator-writer-producer-star-etc. has never hosted the revered sketch comedy show, despite her more than three years in the critically acclaimed spotlight. That changes this Saturday, however, when she will make her SNL debut—and judging by her promo videos, it’s going to be a fun time.
In the series of videos, Lena and cast member Kate McKinnon declare themselves "two young feminists" and discuss Girls—before one of them gets naked. "I would love to be on the show one day," Kate tells Lena. "I don’t need to have a big part. I could just be a character who moves in with Hannah and follows her around and does everything with her." Us, too, Lena?
