My obsession with jewelry line Joomi Lim started a little over a year ago, when I saw a fellow Lucky staffer wearing this necklace. Based in New York City, the wife and husband duo Joomi and Xavier started the rock-n-roll-inspired collection (think black spikes and hints of neon) in 2009. Thanks to the self-taught jewelry designer and her Parisian husband (who has a background in industrial design), I am not only lusting after this rad neck piece from the brand’s Classic Metal-Luxe collection, but totally coveting their newer pieces featuring titanium materials, geometric cutouts, and the line’s signature neon details.
“We both love the Split Personality collection. We all have several sides to our personalities, and the idea of combining of sweet and naughty, classic and edgy, left brain and right brain totally represents our Joomi Lim woman,” the couple told me when I asked them about their favorite collection of the spring. Inspired by sculptures and what they call “tribal gone punk,” check out what the designers had to say about their latest designs.
Future Perfect Collection
“The cuffs are inspired by Russian Constructivist sculptor Antoine Pevsner. Along with our classic spike jewelry, these cuffs can be seen colorized with a futuristic blue/yellow titanium, modern gold, rose gold, and rhodium.”
Modern Tribe Collection
“This is tribal gone punk! The geometric cutout designs with spike details are perfect for fierce city girls who want to channel their wild side, while keeping it minimalistic with clean lines and fresh shapes.”
Split Personality Collection
“This is our favorite of the spring collections! The hybrid approach is perfect for a girl who just doesn’t know what she’s in the mood to wear, with the Split Personality collection, she doesn’t have to."
