Sample sales can get a little dicey at times. Especially when a small room is packed with industry-savvy editors who know exactly what they’re searching for. So when I hit up last week’s blowout at A.P.C. (one of my all-time favorite labels) along with Lucky Senior Fashion Editor Elle Strauss, our general plan of action was that of the divide-and-conquer nature. Imagine my delight, then, when shortly after we simultaneously spotted this lovely houndstooth knit, Elle kindly relinquished our fashion prey and allowed yours truly to go in for the kill—er, purchase. I’ve been obsessed with this natty pattern ever since Salvatore Ferragamo splashed it all over their Fall 2011 collection, and can’t wait to team my new crewneck with equally Brit-minded midi skirts and riding boots.
I like to believe that retail karma exists, so Elle, prepare for lots of marked-down cashmere in your near future. And until then, know that I’m perfectly happy to share my bounty.
(Psst—the sweater’s also still in stock at Azalea Boutique’s e-commerce site, where you can pick it up for $235).
