Brooklyn-based noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells is made up of guitarist Derek E. Miller and vocalist Alexis Krauss. A former elementary school teacher—yes, really—Krauss started her music career in a teen girl group, but her current band’s sound is anything but teenybopper-esque. Sleigh Bells exploded on to the scene in 2010 with their debut album Treats, featuring singles like "Crown on the Ground" and "Kids," which were memorably laced with angry guitars and crashing drums. But it’s all far more catchy (and enjoyable) than the description suggests.
Their newest track, "Comeback Kid," is on the band’s soon-to-be-released sophomore album Reign of Terror. And while the video contains everything from John Hughes references to a grocery-shopping sequence, it’s also a great showcase for Krauss’ one-of-a-kind, rock-infused style.
