Last week, Danish pop singer Oh Land (Nanna Øland Fabricius) stopped off at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom to play a sold-out set—and from the very first song, I was hooked. Oh Land shimmied around in a scarlet fringe-trimmed bodysuit, with a backdrop of videos projected onto a bouquet of balloons, performing favorites from her self-titled album.
While the 26-year-old’s sound could easily be dismissed as pure pop, her entrancing voice and experimental beats make her music the ideal accompaniment for more than just the dance floor. And then there’s her signature style. From animal masks to body glitter to dizzying neon prints, Fabricius is not afraid to test-drive the trickiest of trends. And while her dance-toned physique (she trained at the Royal Danish and Royal Swedish Ballet) certainly makes those catsuits easier to wear, it’s Oh Land’s charismatic persona and cool confidence that really allows such outfits to work.
Check out the artist’s dreamy video for her track "White Nights" below, then shop some pretty picks inspired by her style.
