Well, we can now officially say that this has been the week of celebrity engagements: Wednesday brought Allison Williams, yesterday brought Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher—and today, one half of the Olsen twin unit, Mary-Kate Olsen, according to Us Weekly.
The fiancé in question is, of course, Olivier Sarkozy, a 44-year-old banker and the brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy. He and Mary-Kate, 27, have been dating for two years and live together in a New York City townhouse. Clearly, the 14-year age gap between Mary-Kate and Olivier hasn’t proved to be an obstacle: the two have been seen canoodling and gallivanting all over town—most notably, at New York Knicks basketball games.
For us children of the 1990s, this marks a major milestone in our passage into adulthood. Whether you were a Mary-Kate or you were an Ashley, we grew up with the mystery-solving, globetrotting and sitcom-fronting twins throughout our entire young lives. But no need to get sentimental: now, we have a wedding to plan!
