Just a few hours ago, Zac Posen tweeted, "So excited to be the new judge on @ProjectRunway Season 11!! Joining@heidiklum @ninagarcia and @TimGunn." The implication, of course, was that the young designer would be replacing ten-seasons-strong Runway veteran Michael Kors. And frankly, we can’t imagine the series without the designer’s side-splitting commentary.
But according to The Hollywood Reporter, Kors fans needn’t fret—the judging swap is only temporary. "Always part of the Project Runway family, Michael will be seen in the future on the show, and we are excited to confirm that Michael will be back as a judge for season 11 finale," Lifetime execs confirmed. Turns out that since seasons 10 and 11 were shot back-to-back, scheduling conflicts prevented Kors from committing to all shooting dates for the latter cycle, which—in a new twist—will utilize a team format for every design challenge.
Here’s hoping Zac will provide some memorable sound bites during his stint as a featured judge. As for you, Mr. Kors? We’re just happy it’s not auf wiedersehen for good.
