My mom could throw on a T-shirt and make it look amazing.
My mom, actress/model Peggy Lipton, made ultra-glam miniskirts and swing coats famous on The Mod Squad. But off-set, she toned it down. This photo, taken in 1970, totally captures her natural, breezy, California-cool style: a laid-back tee, bell-bottom jeans, delicate hoops and long, easy hair. Outside, she would add a hat and sunglasses. When I was growing up, she definitely had her dressier, red-carpet moments, but to me, she was always a jeans-and-tee girl, and still is. —Rashida Jones, actress and screenwriter
