Last week I headed to ultra-hip Brooklyn neighborhood DUMBO to visit jewelry designer Alexis Bittar in his studio. The views down there are awe-inspiring, with the bridge towering over you and the river literally at your feet. But my view was really more on the stylish folks in the streets and the super-cool design stores and coffee shops on every corner.
I met Bittar’s PR director, Sam Shaw, and was ready to call Garance Dore, street style photographer superstar, immediately, because Sam was sporting a turban so effortlessly that I wanted to run and hide my generic-looking self under the nearest desk. Of course, her stunning Alexis Bittar wooden horn necklace enhanced her whole look, but as she walked me out to the nearest subway stop (how’s that for customer service?), I was dying over her whole ensemble, which was full of different prints and textures, yet worked together so perfectly. She may be my latest girl-crush.
Check out our video here on three different ways to wear a turband–that quirky combo of headband and turban.
