Narciso Rodriguez, whose body-conscious, minimalist dresses are beloved by the likes of Claire Danes and Michelle Obama, is teaming up with Kohl’s on a limited-edition capsule for the mass retailer. No word yet on the exact price points or number of looks we can expect, but suffice it to say these pieces will surely cost far less than the designer’s usual thousand-dollar red carpet creations.
It’s not the first time Rodriguez has worked on a diffusion line; back in January, he worked with Rent the Runway on an exclusive capsule, and he teamed up with eBay on a similar project in 2010. But here’s what’s really intriguing about this particular announcement: according to WWD, the New York designer’s Kohl’s line will reportedly be the first of many such collabs for the chain. In other words, Kohl’s might soon challenge Topshop, H&M and Target when it comes to designer team-ups. We can’t wait to see what happens.
