On my walk home to the Upper East Side the other day, I noticed the area has gotten a whole lot prettier in recent weeks. Sure, the cherry blossom trees and (finally) gorgeous weather had something to do with it, but it was mainly because I noticed that NARS is opening a new flagship boutique in my neck of the woods—just in time to refresh my spring makeup wardrobe.
Three years after opening his first standalone boutique in Soho, François Nars is making a new permanent home on 76th Street and Madison Avenue. The glossy new space looks crisp and modern, featuring shiny white walls and a red checkout counter in the same shade as the brand’s iconic Jungle Red lipstick.
But on to the best part: the makeup! The store features four beauty stations so that pro artists—all personally trained by Nars himself—can treat you to mini makeovers and show you the best options for your skin tone. Not only can you freely experiment with every NARS product ever, you’ll also be able to score the Bleecker Street location’s exclusive 413 BLKR products, plus shop from a collection of "François’ Favorite Things"—an eclectic mix of films, books and photographs that have inspired Nars over the years.
The store is located at 971 Madison Avenue and officially opens Friday, May 16. Click through above for a sneak peek at the new space.
