For fall, Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci did a funny thing with prints. He created the illusion of flowers with images of bulldogs (in his men’s collection) and panthers (in his women’s). The technique reminded us of one of those Magic Eye pictures. You know, one of those images that looks like a bunch of swirls, but if you focus just right it turns into something special.
Designers Peter Som and Kevork Kiledjian seem to have a thing for the Magic Eye, too. For Spring 2012, Som used a zebra print to hide tiny zebras (so meta) and Kiledjian made tigers out of magenta petals.
We love this trend. Are you into it?
