Porcelain cups marked by lipstick smears and wayward drips of coffee might not sound very appealing, but when the china’s super-prissy and said stains are rendered in high-gloss gold, it’s actually pretty fabulous. Everything on Japanese-born, British-based designer Reiko Kaneko’s website, Reikokaneko.co.uk, shares this same winky humor, including bone china pet bowls featuring fish-eye-lens close-ups of a dog’s snout and artfully "cracked" dinner plates.
You might remember Elise Loehnen from her long stint on staff at Lucky—these days, she lives in Venice, California with her husband and cats and is the very e-resourceful editor-in-chief of Beso.com.
